Honey Savory Dip

Ingredients:
½ cup honey
½ cup Dijon style mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Pinch black pepper
Cayenne pepper to taste

Method:
Beat together honey and remaining ingredients. Use as a dip for pretzels and bread sticks, fresh or stir fried vegetables, chicken wings or shrimp.

For some favourites try:

  • Fresh goat cheese drizzled with thyme honey, served with sliced green apples and toasted walnuts

  • Buckwheat honey poured over buckwheat pancakes with country ham

  • Fresh blackberries swirled with clover honey over a dollop of vanilla yogurt

  • Buttered whole wheat toast dripping with manuka honey

  • Fresh peaches sautéed in butter, fireweed or clover honey, a sprinkle of allspice and lemon juice, served over hot waffles.

  • Tupelo or lavender honey drizzled over ruby grapefruit halves, run under the broiler for a grapefruit brulee

  • Honey Dips for Fruit and Vegetables
Experiment with the “high in antioxidant” honeys – including buckwheat, thyme, tupelo, and clover – for a variety of flavors
